The 1st of December brings with it the annual ‘Giving Tuesday’, a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organisations to transform their communities and the world. Bradford Trident is one of those organisations.
Bradford Trident has supported BD5 and the wider Bradford region for 20 years. We have facilitated countless projects, many of which tackle key issues, and continue to have a lasting impact within the community. The digital inclusion programme is one of the most important given the current lockdown. Having access to a computer, the internet and basic computer literacy is more important than ever with school closures and access to benefits being granted after filling in digital applications.

“It is often taken for granted that everyone has access to a laptop and the internet but it has become more and more evident that those who need support do not have access. This is why we have been working hard to ensure that access to computers and the internet is for all” – Aurangzeb Khan
Working alongside the local schools, our team has been supporting the tutoring of GCSE students looking to catch up on schoolwork after the first lockdown. They have also partnered with Step2 to offer counselling to young adults struggling with their mental health. To help tackle both the mental and fitness aspects of health, the bike library was launched by Bradford Trident. Giving everyone the opportunity to take part in one of the most accessible forms of exercise.

It is not just the young members of the community we support but families as a whole. The food bank at the Parkside sports centre has played a crucial role in many homes in the BD5 area and continues to provide help.
“The economic impact of coronavirus has seen more and more families having to rely on our food bank. The last thing we want people of our community to be doing is choosing between a warm meal and a warm home” Talat Sajawal
To continue this amazing work, Bradford Trident need your help, in the spirit of Giving Tuesday they are asking to donate what you can via http://jacm7.sg-host.com/get-involved/fund-raise/
