The Department for Transport has announced a major review of the Highway Code which will prioritise the safety of people on foot and cycle.
This is a big victory for active travel, and presents us with a solid opportunity to make our roads safer for everyone.
Living Street’s Chief Executive, Joe Irvin, has written a blog post, including a short video, which explains more.
As Joe says, “People walking and cycling do not cause road danger, congestion or toxic air levels, and yet they’re the ones who too often pay the price on our roads.
“A Highway Code review marks a huge victory for active travel.”
